Q. |
What is E Marketing? |
|
| |
A. |
E Marketing, or EMail Marketing, is targeted, timely, and very affordable direct email communication with known customers, clients, colleagues, potential customers, potential clients or other known contacts who are interested in hearing from you.
E Marketing provides you the opportunity to send news, promotions or announcements to general or specific customer and colleague groups. You can do this in real-time and track the results of your effort.
Be sure to review our information on EMarketing.

Q. |
What is the difference between “E” Marketing” and “EMail” Marketing? |
|
| |
A. |
Business EVision use the broader term E Marketing because we are of the belief that your “E” effort should include both EMail Marketing and web (“E”lectronic) presence.
Our core service is to help you with your email marketing efforts and at the same time we lend an eye to your “E” presence. |
|
| |
Q. |
Why can't I just do it myself through Outlook or through my email on my computer? |
|
| |
A. |
This gets to be an involved answer with references to ESP's (Email Service Providers), the Can-Spam Act, white listing, black listing, and sending using HTML, etc.
The simple answer is that you can do it yourself. If you wish EMarket effectively, use an ESP.
If you want to concentrate on your operation, we will handle your E Marketing for you.
Give us a call if you would like to learn more about how to do it yourself. |
|
| |
Q. |
Should I “switch” to E Marketing? |
|
| |
A. |
The simple answer is that you should integrate E Marketing into you business or organization. To what extent it represents your whole marketing effort needs to be explored on a case-by-case basis.
Part of Business EVision's offering is to help you vision your overall marketing strategy. |
|
| |
Q. |
What if I don't have an email list? |
|
| |
A. |
Then it is time to get started! Part of our service is to help you build your list.
There are several ways you can collect email addresses. For example, Business EVision provides a signup box for your web site so site visitors can sign up for your mailings. Their address (and complete information, if you so desire it) is automatically imported to Business EVision.
Business EVision's offering is to help you with your list building efforts. |
|
| |
Q. |
How can I grow my email list? |
|
| |
A. |
- By getting the buy-in from the people who handle the customers.
- By not asking for more information than you really intend to use.
- By doing the best you can to not make the customer repeat the same information over and over.
- By not casting too wide a net.
- By scrutinizing all the existing data in the company

Q. |
Is there some way that someone can use my email address list for spam or other unauthorized purposes? |
|
| |
A. |
Absolutely not! Security of your mailing list is our highest priority. |
|
| |
Q. |
How does my list get imported in to Business EVision? |
|
| |

Business EVision will accept your email addresses in 3 file formats; .txt (text file), .csv (Comma Separated Values) and .xls (MS Excel Spreadsheet).
Business EVision’s offering is to help you gather, compile and format your data. |
|
| |
Q. |
If I want to use the email addresses I have in my Outlook Address book, how do I get them to Business EVision? |
|
| |
A. |
Microsoft Outlook allows you to export your addresses to a .csv file. |
|
| |
Q. |
Can everyone see the email addresses of others being mailed to? |
|
| |
A. |
No. Every recipient gets an email specifically addressed to them. In fact, your outgoing messages can be easily personalized (example Dear Jane, or Dear Jane Smith) |
|
| |
Q. |
What happens if a person wants to be removed from my mailing list? |
|
| |
A. |
If a person wants to be removed from your list, they simply click the Unsubscribe or Mange Your Subscription link on the bottom of the email they receive from you. |
|
| |
Q. |
Do you have a double opt-in procedure? |
|
| |
A. |
Yes, this is available and can be turned on to operate automatically. When someone joins your mailing list through your web sign-up box, they will instantly be sent a welcome/confirmation from you. This email contains a secure link that must be clicked, which then confirms the new subscribers intent to join your list and activates their subscription. (You can customize the welcome email with your logo and content.) |
|
| |
Q. |
Can I save my subscriber list on my computer? |
|
| |
A. |
Absolutely. We can export your subscriber list in .csv format and send it to you at any time. You can even choose what subscriber information you want included (name, address, etc). You can do this to backup your list or to import it into another program. |
|
| |
Q. |
When is the best time to send a message to my mailing list? |
|
| |
A. |
If your mail is being sent to primarily an office environment it is recommended that you send Tuesday-Thursday between 10AM and 3PM.
If your mail is being sent to primarily home computers you add any weekday between 5-8PM and Sunday night between 3-9PM to the above times. |
|
| |
Q. |
What is the average open rate for email newsletters? |
|
| |
A. |
There are dozens of variables that go into open rates - making the "average" question difficult to answer. Open rates (measured using unique opens - meaning only one open per recipient is counted) for most newsletters should be in the 30 to 45 percent range.
Companies using the double opt-in process, with mostly newer subscribers, offering extremely compelling content and following best practices can achieve open rates in the 45 to 50+ percent range. |
|
| |
Q. |
Are there any benchmarks for unsubscribe rates? |
|
| |
A. |
The industry has analyzed unsubscribe rates and find the average unsubscribe rate to be about 0.17 percent per month. An unsubscribe rate above 0.50 percent would likely suggest some significant problems with your email effort. |
|
| |
Q. |
How can I make my EMail Marketing more valuable to my customers? |
|
| |
A. |
E newsletter marketing is less intrusive than traditional advertising. It provides an alternative that is more appealing to most readers, and is more effective because each E newsletter delivers value to your customers and prospects on a regular basis.
Plus, you can track which articles are most read, i.e., which information is most important to your readers.
Rather than one to three percent of readers opening a direct mail piece and requesting more information, over 50 percent of recipients click on e-newsletter articles to get more information. |
|
| |
Q. |
What are the basic steps to E Marketing? |
|
| |
A. |
Demonstrate Value – Deliver valuable information that solves the day-to-day problems of your readers, helps them stay on top of industry trends, or saves them time by distilling practical information from many sources.
Build Trust – Become your customers’ trusted information source on business problems. Know your audience, position your business as a credible source, and speak from integrity by being honest and respectful of your customers’ boundaries.
Show Stability - Deliver accurate, regular, and timely information that is vital to the success of your readers’ business. |
|
| |
Q. |
Do I need to know HTML to be able to E Market? |
|
| |
A. |
Absolutely not! That’s why Business EVision is here! |
|
| |
Q. |
Can I use my own HTML web design in with Business EVision's system? |
|
| |
A. |
Absolutely, you can incorporate any branding graphics. |
|
| |
Q. |
Who will the messages that I send be "From"? |
|
| |
A. |
It will come from you and your business name. If you wish you can create a default email address specifically for your E Market efforts (newsletter@domain.com). |
|
| |
Q. |
Can I see who opens my EMail Marketing mailers? |
|
| |
A. |
Yes, you can see the email addresses of who opened your emails as well as those who clicked onto links within your emails. You will also have access to viewing the history of that user, as well as whom that user has forwarded their emails to. We also have the ability to export "open", "click-thru", “forward” and “bounce” data (which Business EVision does after each mailing.) |
|
| |
Q. |
What about bounced emails? |
|
| |
A. |
The bounce management feature allows you to see which addresses bounced and for what reasons. Again, we can export those addresses for easy bounce management of your lists. |
|
| |
Q. |
How about “opt-outs”? |
|
| |
A. |
Opt-outs are handled automatically and the procedure complies with the Can-Spam Act |
|
